It is the equipment used for mining the cryptocurrencies. A mining rig can refer to a single computer that has been dedicated to mining the crypto coins or even refer to an expansive setup featuring a number of graphics cards that are tasked with the discovery of new blocks. A mining rig consists of all of the usual elements that you would find in a computer. The sole difference is that the crypto enthusiasts personalize each of these components for achieving the greatest chance of success.
