It is a movement that promotes the use of cryptography and other privacy focussed technologies to advance political and social progress. One of the primary notions of the Cypherpunks is to realize the good ideas and not solely just discuss them. Saying that, they have also designed several privacy-focused cryptography-based applications that are still widely used such as the PGP or Pretty Good Privacy program for the secure data communication. Nick Szabo and Adam Back are members of the Cypherpunks.
