It is an open network protocol for decentralized peer-to-peer (P2P) networking. It allows you to build modern and fully distributed applications. It offers a common set of tools for building the peer-to-peer applications and services like file sharing and chat working together seamlessly. It is the foundation for IPFS and can also be simultaneously used in the other applications that require a network stack.
