It is a public market where the cryptocurrencies are traded for the immediate settlement. It contrasts with the futures market where the settlement is due at a later date. The spot trading in this regard involves the immediate exchange of a financial instrument at the current price. It is a most common kind of trade in crypto space and forex where the two coins are traded against each other. Spot trading also includes bonds, stocks and commodities.
