It is a smart contract programming practice that pre-approves the smart contracts for enabling the platform to spend any amount of your coins. It is often considered to be problematic. This programming feature required a specific smart contract to possess authorization for accessing an unlimited number of the tokens from the wallet of the users in place of only the number that is actually required.
