The Proof of-Developer (PoD) is any verification that offers evidence of a real, living software developer that created a cryptocurrency. This verification helps in preventing anonymous developers from making away with any of the raised funds without offering a working model. It is common with crypto-based projects. It was started back in 2014 when the cryptocurrency investors suffered losses rising from the pump and dumps and samne was the time when the ICOs were also gaining momentum.
