Proof-of-Replication

« Back to Glossary Index

The Proof-of-Replication or PoRep is a method that a storage miner proves to the network that they are preserving an entirely unique copy of a piece of data. This is often used in reference to filecoin or the other network that possesses an entirely unique copy of a piece of data that is held for the network. The PoRep performs as a Proof-of-retrievability mechanism inside of a proof-of-space mechanism.
