A tamper-proof ledger is usually defined as any system of records that possesses the fundamental properties of a blockchain distributed ledger. The very first truly successful tamper-proof ledger came with the introduction of the Bitcoin whitepaper. In this context, Satoshi Nakamoto detailed a revolutionary idea of how to ensure the BTC ledger will remain tamper-free. However, Bitcoin is the first natively tamper-proof ledger as it prevents all the nodes from altering the records.
